What would be the best way to fill in current axle holes so they can be re-drilled using the Block? Would filling in with epoxy or glue in a small wooden dowels work? I only need to re-drill the back axles.

I think I'll just build a brand new Pure Stocker instead. Start with a fresh piece of wood and get the holes perfect this time with the Block. Plenty of time to get one ready before the August race.

I think I'll just build a brand new Pure Stocker instead. Start with a fresh piece of wood and get the holes perfect this time with the Block. Plenty of time to get one ready before the August race. Before you s-can the old one, you might try over-drilling the existing holes with a couple size larger bit. Then fill the new larger, straighter (use the Block if you wish for this as well) holes with your epoxy, let it dry, and drill new regular size holes in the middle of the larger holes (using the Block). I would think that if you were drilling new holes into consistent material, you would significantly reduce or eliminate the issue of the bit wandering due to the dissimilarity of the epoxy and wood. Drill only into epoxy, the dissimilarity (and hopefully the wandering) goes away. If the epoxy is so stiff that it induces wandering, forget the epoxy and go with a wood dowel the size of the larger bit. Again, the point is to drill the new holes into consistent material, whatever material you choose. If you think about it, even if you glue / superglue an axle sized toothpick into the existing holes, you will have a dissimilarity between the wood and surrounding glue. Just a thought. ...and let me know if you try it, I would be interested to hear the results - might be useful for big axle to needle axle conversions. Bubba
