Many moons ago, I used to build model cars and trucks as a young lad. "No Bubba, really???" you say? Yes, it's true. I didn't get into it too deeply as a boy as my folks were both very busy with work and we were, shall we say, of very limited means. Not a lot of grownup help, and not a lot of cash left once the food and clothes were bought, but I did manage to save up and put probably a couple dozen together during my "younger days". I do recall a couple particularly enjoyable builds, one of which was a '53 Ford Pickup that had both a hood and a bed that would lift (see image below). Well guess what I found at the store the other day? ;D It does have doors... and it is a 1/25 kit... think it's a good Slammr' candidate? Bubba

Here she is so far (still needs to be clear coated, weighted, "Edge equipped", and tuned). Still needs a name. Considering the following: Double Take Flipped Out Flashback Jovi Dude Kinda struggling to put a name on it right now, any thoughts you guys have are more than welcome. Bubba p.s. She'll probably run under the "Redneck Roadhogs" brand. Still working on the Dark Horse Racing entry that's gonna Pink against LA Sound's NC Nightmare.

SWEET RIDE MY FRIEND! Now how am I supposed to compete with a nice ride like that. I just don't want to put together a tonka truck and put it next to beauty like that! That looks very nice! I love the truck, you should be proud! -JG

I love the truck, you should be proud! -JG If all it takes to get you to send one in is for me to send in a "rougher" one, trust me I would have no problem doing that. Just name the month and send me a pic of yours LOL. ;D I seem to have a gift for hosing up the paint on the first few trys (did you get a look at the first pic of "Frankenslammr'" ). If they're both rough enough we could have a "Junkyard Special" Pinks race LOL. Best regards (and send one in for cryin' out loud ), Bubba

im in if you are grumpy! i had a 79 camaro Z28 when i was younger man that the "honeys" loved !! maybe a stroll down memory lane for me ! Did it look anything like this? Currently listed on amazon ( www.amazon.com/24-79-Camaro-Z28-3-n-1/dp/B0000DEWAQ ) for $12.70 (+ $6.45 shipping, etc.). The 3 'n 1 model kits are kind of cool 'cuz they typically provide for a "standard" build, a moderately "sup'd up" version, and a "drag ready" version with a big blower stickin' out of the hood as pictured above. Even if you don't use the big engine for your first build, you can always save it for use in a future Slammr' ;D FYI the link above showed only 1 remaining in stock, but with 6 new / used available. If you're not a big Amazon fan, sometimes a local hobby store will order it into the store for you if you provide the model kit number (Revell 1/24 1979 Camaro Z-28 3'n1 - 852165). Any pics of the original? I'm sure one of the paint guys here could help you find some rattle cans to nearly match it Bubba p.s. How 'bout you Grumpy - Camaro, Mustang, Trans Am?

My son and I just started on the 1970 Baldwin Motion Chevelle tonight. His choice of car. I pushed for a silver shell and my son won out and we ended up laying down the first coat of dupilcolor royal blue tonight! Not a standard color for the day but it looks good. We'll tweak it a bit with some yellow pin stripes or something similar. It was allot of fun to spend time with my 11 yr old putting the engine together, figuring out all the details and making plans. He's claiming it as his and can't wait to race it. No pinks on it yet but we will be there. Nice recruiting bubba. Now Fat Boy and I have to get our two right? Hey this is now starting to sound like some multilevel marketing thing. -JG

A cool combinatin of two really fun endeavors - Car model building and PWD racing. Hadn't thought of the "now we have to get our two" angle. Sounds good to me. Let your boy have the kit you're already working on, buy another kit for yourself, send them both in and then you'd only have to get one more ;D Bubba
