The scale they use at PDDR can weigh either ounces or grams. They use the ounce setting, therefore if the scale says 5.0 you are legal. Technically, 5.49 would still show on the scale as 5.0 and that would pass.

I sent mine in and it weighed exactly 5.00 on my digital scale. (this is the same digital scale I took off some crazy crackheads driving through ditches last summer). I included a short note with my car that explained they could dig out some tungsten putty if it was heavy by chance. Well, the mailman must have snuck some weight on cuz when i got the car back I see they had removed a tiny bit of putty from the bottom.
Is it OK for us to send our cars in a tad heavy and have PDDR dig out some weight, or was this just a one-time courtesy diet?

WE WILL HELP OUT ANY RACER THAT NEEDS WEIGHT REMOVED OR IF YOU CHOOSE TO WE CAN ADD SOME LUBE BEFORE THE RACE AS WELL, WE WANT THE RACERS NOT TO HAVE THERE CARS Dq'ED IF POSSIBLE. WE WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES TO HELP OUT IN ANY WAY SO YOUR CAR CAN PASS TECH... IF THE CAR WEIGHTS 5.0 THEN IT IS GOOD TO GO... IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO ADD LUBE JUST HAVE IT IN YOUR BOX WITH THE CAR AND A LITTLE NOTE TELLING US TO ADD LUBE... THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT RACES AT PDDR AND TO THE NEW COMERS AS WELL... GLENN

Let me get this straight, I can send in a car that weighs 5.049 oz and be OK? I have been sending them in under 5 to be on the safe side.
