My son got me thinking... He asked me if he could race against other kids in the country. Sooooo... since alot of us have kids that are Cub champions, District winners ect. Why don't we have a race for them ..kind of like a non-sanctioned Cub National Championship. Race them how they ran in the cubs ..without us tweeking them. So what do you think? just thought it would be cool. Jettwash

I think thats a great idea, my son is already really excited about trying his car in pddr and racing against the "pinewood derby champion of the world" (JE) in next weeks race.
I think the only problem would be that so many packs and districts have so many different rules. Like, my sons pack and district allow for some major wheel mods, where most are limited with rules similar to those in the pure stock class. The difference in rules would probably make for some unfair races.

Miller; Yes I believe that is the biggest problem in the cub races. We have packs that dont even follow council or district rules and just make up their own. When the kids got to the district race the parents were complaining.... my pack says you can't extend wheel base, all four wheels have to touch.... ect..... this isn't fair....wa! wa! wa !! I just told them to take it up with their pack leaders about following the proper rules put out by the council and district. I did send a copy to all cub leaders by email. We had two that did'nt pass inspection. My decision was to let the kids run, but the could not be in contention for trophys. It is all about the kids .. my son would just love to see the car he built and won in the cub races run on the internet. Isn't that the point.. knowing that all rules are different ..letting them run together and seeing how they do... I would think it would be fun for everyone ... I thought I would get more response. We're planning on sending our pack winner (4th in District by 0.0011 secs!) in next month for the Barnburner Pure Stock entry.
My boy's been chomping at the bit to see Aaron's Arrow run with the big boys!
I'm with Jettwash on this one - Run them the way they ran (won) in scouts. If your pack allows extended wheelbases (ours does but we opted for the short WB in order to qualify for Pure Stock in PDDR) then run Stock. If you're allowed to run HoleShots (like the Jewkes) then run in the PDDR Modified division.
At the end of the season, perhaps we can go back, check which cars were scout's cars, and directly compare their times since all runs will be on the common, PDDR track.

Cool My sons car went out today .. He is Team Jett and the name of his car is Jett Jett 3. He won in his pack and also in district. The car is also to run in his council race june 28th. ;D In the pack race we were running super stockers ... but because 2 were broken we only have 2 on the back ..hopefully I can get another set for him before council. Soo... is anyone else sending cub winners this month? Carolina Gravity Sports what about you? Jettwash a proud father
