Those in the Super Mods who use bearings, how do you clean your bearings and what lube do you use?

Hey Bones,
Last March was my 1st bearing car and I will be watching for a response on this question also. I have yet to open the box since I got the car back.
I was thinking some denatured alcohol & a air can would do the job.

I normally use denatured alcohol too, just wanted to check. How about lube, I tried krytox and I think it's not as fast as it was? Oh BTW has anyone had a problem with the wheels coming apart? I have reglued all of mine once already.

I am no expert when it comes to the materials in use for pwd cars, but we use a lot of adhesives and chemicals were I work and it could be that the particular glue you are using is dissolved by the alcohol, hence the need to redo the procedure.

The glue is cynoacrylate and I don't think it will desolve with alcohol but I'm not sure. And after I applied the krytox I blew any extra away with compressed air, very little oil is on the bearings. I even heated the car near a space heater before running it. Oh and my track is in my basement which is heated. I recleaned them and reoiled them with the same results. Does anyone use a different lube?

I have re-glued all of mine once already. Nano had Nyoil last month. Might try something else. The day before I was planning on mailing my car in March, the wheels fell of rolling on the kitchen table (glued with golf shaft epoxy). So, I cleaned them up, re-glued with krazy glue and watched the race in a very uneasy state of anticipation. The May race might have some interesting replay action.

Does anyone use a different lube? Acetone based finger nail polish remover should work to dissolve the glue. I used a thin paint brush and "painted" the area over and over, using small amount of remover to dissolve the glue. It did work in the end.

I have reglued all of mine once already. I had a problem, that is why I only have 3 wheels. One of the front wheels separated from the bearing and the bearing completely came apart. There were parts scattered everywhere. The new Super Mod will be with needles and Holeshots running bushings. Just have to find time to get started on it.

What is everyone using for bushings, does someone sell them? Oh yeah, I talked to Randy at Maxv and he said he is adding those loose leaf reinforcement stick ons on his newer wheels because they come apart. I added them to my last car, they seem to hold.
