Has anyone ever seen this? Hershey car has a wobble, but instead of it decreasing with more steer into the rail it got most and with less it got better. (not perfect just better) It ran sat. at about 1" in 5'. Com is .8" ahead of rear axle.

Bones
I saw basically the same thing last night playing around with my daughters car for the open race this weekend. If i put it harder into the rail the wobble was worse. When I backed off a little it got better. I believe my main problem is the wheels. They are absolutely 100% junk. Unfortunately, they were the only pure stock wheels I had lying around. When I let the car roll slowly down the track, the wheels have a wobble in them. At high RPM's I'm sure they wobble/vibrate very bad. Nothing I can do about it now. I was able to get 3.01's out of it. How, I don't know. Luckily I have a nice set of Edge Pure Stockers on the way to save the day. The race is this Saturday so we will have to run with what we have. I got a feeling with the new wheels Atomic Punk will go under 3 seconds.

I don't think it's the wheels because I'm using Jewkes pure stockers on the car. But I didn't check for that but I will when the car comes back in the mail, somehow though I don't think thats my problem. Thanks Carolina. Frontosacam311 I know my car hit the rail just from the time differential, going from 2.992 to a 3.040. I must have a rear alignment issue but it looked good twice that I checked it. It sounds to me you may have rear alignment trouble with the truck too. Thanks

Mood, I don't think I had a heat against LA. If I did drafting behind him should have lowered my time by about .5 seconds I would think. His car was just that fast.

Slow mo shows exactly what I thought, with that wiggle I could have called Hershey Car - Hula Girl. If I can fix that though ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have absolutely positively no idea, I am thinking maybe both rear wheels are parallel to one another but not square to the car, but if I am right which way are they turning the car? If I figure it out I will definitely post the cause, it's drivin me nuts!

THERE IS ALOT OF WOOD ON THE TRUCK THE FRONT IS NOT VERY LIGHT SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RAIL RIDE VERY HARD OR YOU WILL SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN... THE WHEEL BASE IS THE SAME IN THE FRONT AS THE BACK RIGHT... NARROW THE FRONT JUST A LITTLE. GET THE TRUCK TO RAIL RIDE 2 - 3 INCHES IN 8 FEET. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR REAR WHEELS DO NOT TOUCH THE TRACK... HOPE THIS HELPS... GLENN

Hey Carolina, you had said you thought the wheels you had on your daughters car caused the same problem. What were the wheels doing? 3 of my wheels give me a vibration when spun on a polished axle and one spins smooth. Is it the same for your wheels? Would burnishing them help dampen the vibration?

Bones, when I would let the car roll real slow down the track the rear wheels would wobble. In other words, rolling slowly you could see the wheel moving in and out from the car. Maybe the bores were not true to the outer edge of the wheel. You could see the same type of wobble when spun on an axle held in your hand. I had to use them since they were all I had. I ran it yesterday in the Open race and it did better than I thought. The new set of Edge Pure Stockers are in now, it should do better once I get that junk off of there.
As far as your question, when spun on a polished axle they did wobble. I'm sure the faster they spin the wobble will turn into a vibration. I did burnish the bores on these wheels and it didn't seem to help.

Thanks for the info Carolina, I'm still trying to figure out my prob. I redid my rear alignment and still have the wiggle. I'm leery of messin with the wheel bore because I would hate to ruin the Jewkes wheels. I'll just keep tryin.

[glow=red,2,300][/glow]I think I got it! The non-dom. rear wheel had a vibration in it so I swapped it with the raised wheel and I think I'm good to go. Thanks for all the help!
