OK, we're starting design on a couple of Door Slamm'rs for March and have a couple of questions that I haven't found answers for browsing the forum.
1) Best Track lists the radius of their bend section @ 4'. Is that what we're using? I'm just double checking nose and tail clearance.
2) I've noticed that many Door Slamm'rs run with a plate attached to the nose. Is this because they have trouble tripping the timer at the finish or are you trying to get as far up the hill as possible by setting the car back away from the starting pin? If we need to run with a similar plate, we'll need to consider the added weight.
Thanks for the help.

They trip the timer just fine with no problem.
The plate or extension is for extending the car to maximum length. ( 8" )Hope this helps

That's perfect. Our design looks like it'll be (8) inches on its own so we won't have to worry about the extension.
Thanks.
