Ok. My son has his Cub Scout derby race next week, and I went with him to buy some supplies. I picked up some grooved axles at the hobby shop thinking that they should be a good way to go for reducing friction. I will be polishing them and filing the contact point of the head (slightly) to even further reduce friction. Does anyone recommend these axles? AND are they legal for the BSA races?
Another question...Scroll saw or band saw?

Some of the great builders here will probably chime in here with some advice. But for now I hope I will do. ... :DCk your rules if it doesn't spell out no grooved axels then you should be ok. There is no real prove that grooved axels reduce the amount of friction to make much of a difference. The real gain is that it holds the lube in alot longer. (we use them ..groove them ourselves) ....... Both.... band saw first .. but for intricite cuts I use the scroll. 8-)RATTLE CAN PAINTERS UNITE AND RULE JETTWASH
