...cuz it's a stupid purple dinosaur. Ever have a build where nothing goes right? I finally got my new wheels I was waiting for and they were junk. Totally unusable. I designed these three spoke super-light wheels on Google Sketchup and had a guy 3D print them. (I don't have a lathe so I can't make my own) I don't know if it is the process itself or just this guys execution of it, but they were really low quality. They did however only weigh .3 grams each. So now I have no wheels, well I do have some 1" GWS microlight airplane wheels (nobody laugh), so I guess I have to use those. My lead mold broke, so I had to pour into the bottom of a coke can and make a dome. All in all this has not been an auspicious start to my pddr racing experience. Meet Barney

Those wheels looked awesome. I wish they could have worked for you. Actually those are the wheels I am using. My custom wheels look like this... I guess I'll just use them for display wheels.

well, Barney is all boxed up and ready to go. well maybe not ready, but going anyway. :-/I'm looking forward to the race although I don't have very high expectations. does anybody know how long ___'s custom Krytox blend lasts once applied and the car's in a box? Is the thinner or whatever the secret ingredient is gonna evaporate or something by the time my car gets there?

I'm shipping from Dallas where it will be 106 *** TODAY ***. I contemplated putting some dry ice in the box, but just crossed my fingers.

If your prep job is done properly you can get solid runs for 2 to 3 weeks using the ___ process.

not surprisingly Barney was slow although not quite as bad as I feared. It wasn't a very good build and I knew I could do better from the start.
Any opinions as to why I got slower with each run? I followed ___'s oil video procedure and it had never any break in runs so I actually expected it to get faster not slower.
