OK....I went to my local hobby shop *** TODAY *** and looked at car models to build a Door Slammer. Would all 1/24 / 1/25 bodies meet the width requirement? I wanted to by a late forties ford but the guy who owns the shop said it would be wider than 3 1/2". The box gives the length but no width measurement. They would not let me open the box for a measurement.

I've been seriously thinking of building one of these. How did you drill your holes, getting accuracy had to be hard. How did you know you where drilling straight. It's not like you can lay the frame on it's side and know it's square.

Now that we have removed the manual start lever from the track you now have more width clearance for the Door Slammr's. If you build a Door Slammr' that has more than 3-1/2" width you will still pass. We only use the outside lanes to run this class and race 2 at a time. (Drag Race) Most cars should be close to the 3-1/2" mark, maybe if you measure from the side mirror to side mirror on some cars if you put them on then you might be around 4" things like that shouldn't effect the rules.
