Is it possible to have to much weight behind the rear axle? How can that effect the COM and is there a risk to performance?

Keep your weight in tungsten (or lead) over 3.6 ounces. 4 ounces is possible.
Keep you weight concentrated like a tungsten 1" round disc, Or a sweetspot, or cubes placed very close to each other....
Keep your car body light....
5/16" thick works well if you are drilling holes. If slots maybe go up to 3/8"
With these parameters if you center the weight on the axle you should be too close.
You may need to move it forward a tad. For BSA wheels and graphite. COM 5/8"
