Da Pine Yes I have been reading the 2010 rules and I did not know that we had to consider earlier years to. I guess being a new racer I misunderstood. Spacewalker

I was just wondering........
For the cars that have not raced but, are eligible to race in the K.O.H. and may show up to represent the builder.
Are there any pictures of them? If the said cars scored points & showed up a day or two late, It would have been cool to see them added to the race day photos. I'm really curious to see the cars that may show up in the needle classes.
Spacewalker, The 2010 rules to qualify seem to be the same as last year or even a little more vague. # Top 9 builders in each class at end of point season advance on # You must use a car that has raced in the point season to use in the King of the Hill Finals My earlier post was just in reference to a conversation (I thought, I may be way off base) I heard last year. I was under the impression (from said conversation) it was top 9 only and the reason why there was a short field in some classes. I may be in total error. I'm all for letting someone move into a known vacant spot.
I was pondering something else everybody. If the case may be, that the 3rd place car in points backs out, Who gets that 3rd place seeding in the KOH? It will effect lane choice outcome.
If the order of cars all just move up one spot & 10th moves to 9th as if the said "backed out car" never existed, How would the points awarded during the season been different? Or even totally changed the entire seeding order? or even change the top 9 all together?
Just wondering Good luck everyone @ The K.O.H.

PDDR says that a points tie breaker is the car that had the single fastest time during that season.

PDDR says that a points tie breaker is the car that had the single fastest time during that season. if that is the case my car's fastest time was in Jul. with a 2.913 which puts me in 9th not 10th 2DB's fastest car time was in Sept. with a 2.940 sorry 2DB thats how I see it BUT I have not seen anything about ties for KOH top 9 builders

I really thought we had that post about ties.... I'm really sorry for the confusion.
My bad.
In case of a tie for 9th place the one with the fastest single run for the season will break the tie. Also if a builder steps down and doesnt race in the top 9, then the list is bumped up and the next one in line takes 9th.
We use a 3 lane track and wanted to keep the number of cars used for even racing. A 9 car field keeps the excitement level up and allows more people in the finals.
This is why 9 builders are important and no more.
I will try and post a video clip of how the King of the Hill race is run. It is a different format than the points season. It is heads up racing...
For the new builders that are not sure how the race is run about 5:46 runtime into the video will demonstrate how the race is run. This video explains how it works for a 4 lane track we use a 3 lane so just remove the 4th lane spot. This should give you and idea how it works. I need a better updated version...
Just ask some of the guys that have been to one of the King of the Hill Tournaments and they will tell you about the incredible excitment level that happens with this type of format. No time averages just straight up heads up Drag racing... To name a few... Cam Car Racing, DaPine Racing, MB4hire, Bones, Carolina Gravity Sports... the list is long...
Any more questions please ask. 2009 Pure Stock King of the Hill 2009 Super Mod King of the Hill

Any more questions please ask. I was just wondering if the questions in my last post, in this thread were overlooked Also, I was looking at the 2010 season rules again due to the confusion I am having about this years K.O.H. concerning the differences for qualifying, what cars are race eligible, seeding, etc.... Is there still a $400.00 prize for K.O.H. champions in each class? or did I miss it?. I didn't see any mention of prize money. Or did it change? I understand it is totally up to me to read & understand the rules. I apologize for all the questions and for assuming all would be the same as last year. Prize money, no prize money..it's all okay to me....I just dig racing these cars Good luck everyone at the K.O.H. It's getting closer
