Shade, If I figured it right, you and So Gone Racing tied for the 9th spot in the Stock class.
You also qualified for Door Slammers, no problem.

Why was John given points in both Aug and Nov for not racing?

Just wondering how ties in the points work in qualifying for KOH? ie. If there was a tie in points for 9th place - what determines who's in and who's out?

Why was John given points in both Aug and Nov for not racing? Speaking for myself, I missed October because USPS sent my cars to Alaska before eventually sending them to Utah. I spoke with David on this and here is what he did for me - they kept my entry fee and gave me last place points. They reason I was concerned was because I was running a brand new super pro mod that I wanted to race in the KOH. The rules say that you have to run a car that you ran during the year, so giving me the points qualified that car. (and to make sure that car made it on time for KOH, I just had David keep her ). I would have qualified for KOH with or without Oct. points. I think when you are a no show and its out of your control, David and Glenn are happy to make sure you don't get hosed.

Delivery services don't always deliver on time.
We had the discussion on this topic... we have thought it through long and hard....
If your shipment didn't make it and it was sent out to make it here on time and did not arrive before race time then you will receive last place points in the class that you were to enter and those cars shipped would also qualify to use in the King of the Hill Tournament.

Zeebzob I have been trying to find where in the rules it says the cars need to have raced during the year to race in the King of the King. I must be over looking it. I was hoping on entering a new car. could you please help. Thanks Spacewalker. PS I know I do not have a chance at the King of the Hill, but I do enjoy trying. Good luck to you

I don't want to get in any wars here. I don't want to piss off ANYONE. I usually put my cars in the mail on Wednesday for the race. My cars always got to the race on Friday or Saturday. But the second I saw that I "could" make the KOH race I started sending my cars on Mondays. I didn't want to take a chance of missing the race! Also if I ever get so fast that I could win a division - I would have a spare car sitting at PDDR just in case the mail screwed me over. So if PDDR is going to give last place points to builders then there has to be some checks to be made. Like the date a car was sent compared to how many days until race day. We don't want builders to send a car on Sat morning just to receive points do we? I'm not saying this is what happened - but it could be done if the rules are not clear? My post office tells me that Priority mail is 2 to 3 days usually - but no guaranties are granted. So Priority can take longer! The way you firm up rules is after issues. PDDR can not foresee things that can crop up. It's only after problems arise that concrete solutions can come about. It could take years to finally come up with every possible problem countered with a ruling. Glenn, David and John have helped me be the racer I am *** TODAY ***. Please do not take offense to my post. Solutions will rise to the top.

When I missed October, I posted my the tracking info on the forum here...kinda proving that I was not BSing. My cars arrived at Davids on Monday.

You must be in the top 9 in the class. You must use a car in the "Finals" that you have used at least once in the PDDR Points Season. No new car's for the " King of the Hill Tournament ".

Zeeb, I had read all your posts and understand. There are just some things out of our control. This is why rules are in place. I don't want this to sound bad so it probably will - I used to play on two baseball teams and 3 softball teams at the same time. I would leave for the games in time to change a flat tire. I never once had a flat tire and was at the field long before any other player - even the coaches. Do you think that they would hold the game up just because I was late? No way! Nor would they let the game play out and give my team 2 home runs and 19 strike outs without me being there.

John, Again - Don't take this the wrong way! But you being the Modified king - Why not build a Mod car instead of a Slammer? This to me would have been more important? Heck in 30 minutes you could have build a car to beat most racers. Also why put your trust in a POD delivery when your cars could have sat with you in your car? My wife hates me when we are able to get a couple of days off in the year. We'll go to Table Rock lake, Big Cedar and Branson. I could care less about my clothes, toothbrush or shampoo. I just absolutely make sure all my metal detecting equipment is in the car. If I smell then I'm OK with that! :-/Note:: I just re read my post. I would like to say that I don't know John's situation. I also shouldn't tell another man what he should or shouldn't have done. I should have said that this is what I would have done. I apologize for getting personal.

Are there 2010 rules? Are we still using 09 rules for this years KOH? You must be in the top 9 in the class.I remember last years KOH, the Super Stock field had less than 9 cars, Maybe Super Mod as well due to builders pulling out of the race. Congrats to all who are in. Good luck
