Hello all ~
I thought I would throw this out there and see what I get. My pure stock was running 2.94's in Feb, I polished up the axles & wheel hubs looking to get 2.93's but it slowed me down. Now I can't get it to go faster than 2.96, 2.958. It ran a lot of 2.96's. Any tips on how to get my 2.94's back? Currently I am running Krytox. My axles & hubs are VERY smooth and shiney. I think it all comes down to the lube.
I have had good luck with graphite in door slammers. I've taken 4th place in both door slammer races this year, and that makes me want to run graphite on my Pure Stocker.Attachments:

One of life's little mysteries. How are you aliging the car? Do you have a tuning board set up? You need to know how the car steers before tear down so you quickly align it again. I just made the switch to oil myself. Its a bit tricky, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I set new personal track records in two car classes on my track with the oil, so I'm gonna stick wth it. One thing I have found is that oil has a break in period of about 10 - 15 runs whereas graphite is fast right away. Just keep at it, if it was easy, everyone would be fast!

Yes I am using a tunning board. We have messed with the steer a lot. I go to Glenns house to test and tune it. I put on new wheels and axles last night, and the fastest times Glenn & I could get out of it is 2.95's. we switched the car to graphite because we couldn't get it to go quicker on oil. (The oil polish process was not done on new stuff) I will check out the sub 3 post. Frustrating!

John...I was the one there with Glenn when you talked to him last night. I am thinking about sending the car to you and see what you can do with it. What all does that take to do? I would like to learn how to do all of this stuff myself, so I don't have to depend on someone all the time.

5 Kids racing,
That is a good comment and remark, Even if it was meant as a joke and to be funny.
A few weeks ago I was talking with someone, It was a interesting point that was made / brought up.
I will mention and see what some of you think. I'm not saying it won't be touchy. But there was some merit in what was mentioned.
Does a vendor / seller of goods, share the info to prep and use the product to sell more of a great product ?
Or does the vendor / seller hold back some info, due to also league racing and doing very well ?
I think its a hard topic and a fine line from a vendor / seller and a builder and racer at the same time.
The oddity of it all, do you give all the little tid bits out when you sell a product, that took hours to find and develop.
Which in turn could also mean some of the other racers get closer to you or perhaps surpass you.
The out come is more sales of a product with the additional info.
But on the other hand, Sales are generated through also being such a fast and good racer and working hard at it to find methods that get you very fast which also helps sell a product.
It's a two or three dimentional area that can cross effect the other.
There is also the option, to buy the prepped axles and wheels.
It was a good topic piece of conversation.
I am too, am also trying to perfect the oil process and still not having a lot of luck. But Still have not given up yet.
But the tiime increases I have seen so far are only .005 to .008 faster than my graphite.
But also the percentage of evap before the race, is a unkown variable at this time.
I have let it set for a week to see how it performs and the times are a little slower and almost equal my graphite cars.
So some things some into mind for me, is perhaps faster shipping ? a better sealing process for the cars. Or the initial gains are still far below what I should be seeing.

"ONLY" .005 to .008 faster with oil??? Tell that to the guy who took 9th place at the ECD race this past month....give him .008 more and he ties for 1st place. ;D ;D ;D BOOM!
