OK, got my box ready. Car is all lubed up. Got my entry form. I have a couple of questions for everyone. 1. I will send this thing USPS I suppose. How do I do the return postage? Ask for it when I'm at the counter? It needs to go in the box, right? Bring my packing tape? 2. I was looking for the thread explaining how to watch the race. It looks like there is a live feed available or you can get in a chat room? How far off am I? 3. Any last minute shipping advise? I guess I wouldn't have to use the USPS. 4. I guess I'm gonna need a team name? Your help and advise is appreciated. Thanks

I usually ship 5 to 6 days early, i include in lube and weight, in case it needs to be added. sometimes they do this, sometimes i'm not so sure.
you might have a snugger fit for your wheels, lube just seems to shake and rattle and roll all over.
my packing has not been the best and have tried to improve, but thats what i see always, lube all over in the box.
wonder how much is left in the car on race day, if they do not re- add it.

I suggest to add a thin layer of foam under your car.

Sporty - I am shooting for tomorrow or Saturday. This car has 91's and seems a little tricky to get the graphite into the bore, but it goes. I would expect they wouldn't get in the habit of lubing the cars when there are 30+ in pure stock alone Maybe if there's one in obvious need. ACME - Actually there is. From the shot it looks like the car is sitting on the bottom of the box, doesn't it. I also made 1 small wedge and then a bigger block of the foam to fill up the inside. This box then goes inside another slightly bigger box. Man, I hope it arrives in one piece. Bet I'm the first to say that ... Mood - I thought I would be paying the shipping for both ways when I drop it off. So you guys actually pay the return shipping provided I include it along with my entry fee? Is that how it works? With paypal (which I need to do) as well? Man, you guys must be spendin' some time at the post office!

It looked like your car was sitting on a block of wood. Once packed shake the box hard. If you feel or hear something redo it. I picture these boxes being thrown or dropped from bin to bin. I write "glass" all over my box too. Maybe it just gives them another reason to give it a big kick?

I write "glass" all over my box too. Maybe it just gives them another reason to give it a big kick? No kidding! I think the movie Ace Ventura confirmed what we all beleived to be true. The only thing I can here are the wheels. They are dangling. Everything is secured in the foam except for those. Isn't that how it should be? There is a small wedge that fits in the middle directly on the car. It makes it flat and then the big white foam block just behind the box (in the pic) is what fills the rest of the enterior. Top flap swings shut and then the whole thing goes inside another foam lined box. LA - it is a pretty simple set up. I have watched those packing video's and that's what I modeled it after. MOOD - I would expect this car to go to the impound lot if correct shipping were not included. Makes sense to me. I am responsible for shipping both ways. It should be the same amount so I can include that with the entry fee. Got it.
