That's an awesome job! I like it. Tell us about how it went together. I'm not sure which I like more - building them or racing them ...

That's an awesome job! I like it. Tell us about how it went together. I'm not sure which I like more - building them or racing them ... i dont have fancy tools but what i do is first cut out the wheel wells and then clue it to the body - then i use my scroll saw to cut out the profile. then i use a dremmell with grinder / sander and round out the windshield area. then i sand it all smooth and even with my hand. then i paint it red. then the strips, then i used a paint brush for the windows. next time i will try to out a stencil and paint the windshields. mistakes - one mistake is i would need to completely smooth out the wheel wells before attaching to car. its too difficult to do while on the car. and then on the windows. i also need to save up and learn how to use air brush. the spray paint im getting pretty good at and the pics make it look better than what it really is but i would like to be as good as our top builders. my next car i will make with a longer wheel base and use it to race at one of the door slammr races. except i want to try to cut our the front of the car to insert a 1971 cuda grill. not sure if i can do that yet.

we took 1st place except it wasnt with this car - he wanted to race a car he painted so i quickly built him another car and it took 1st place. also it was more than just the cubscouts racing it was more church race and my daughter took 2nd place and boy who didnt have a daddy, i helped him with his car and he took 3rd place.
so we took 1st 2nd and 3rd. pics on the way.
