my son decided he wanted to build a car. i let him pick a design and trace it out on the block. i cut it for him (fixing the crooked lines) he sand as much and as good as he could. i did the rest. he did the first coat of paint and ill sand to try to get rid of runs and other things wrong with it. anyways he likes speed racer and the mach 5. but i think it looks like a fork. so im going to name it the mach-fork lol. dont tell him. my daughter shows no interest but i tried to get to build one as well. and i finished my car (not the alignment yet) but i decided to name it periwinkle after the color.

That's a cool way to build a speed racer car Both cars look fast standing still! Nice job!

The pointed nose may make it harder to stage, and could effect triggering the timer.

Burpinchunks,
The front end should be fine, take a look at some of the Pure Stockers from April. Some have pointed fronts the same as yours and seemed to perform just fine.

They both look great. I wouldn't worry about the staging. the guy behind the peg is a pro.
