going to hobe lobby on a regular basis to pick-up derby kits ,i noticed the wide range of TESTORS paints, so ive been using it about a year,,the paint jobs turn out very nice, but the paint never seems to fully harden,,(so it seems),,,when i package my cars ,they come back with impressions in the paint!!!ruining the paint,,so ive got several colors of testors ill never use again on derby cars,,im done with laquer paints, or is it the brand im using? any of you guys had this happen? thinking of using enamel from now on. not ready to airbrush yet,,

Same here. I gave up on paint along time ago when it comes to my cars. Maybe one of these days I will find what I am looking for.

Testors Paint did that to me, That's why David repainted Katana for me. He had pity for me and my cars. LoL. David also told me about Duplicolor Metalcast. Metalcast is very good. Great candy like colors and it dries fast and hard. I sent Dead Reckoning in after painting it with this stuff and Glenn said it arrived in great shape.

yeah gonna try duplicolor,,thanks,, good to know this about laquer,,i was starting to wonder if it was just me doin something wrong. thanks for the info,,,steve

Not all laquer paint does this. The testors and tamiya are the only two I've ever had this happen too. It reacts with plastic foam and bubble wrap. Duplicolor and Plastikote work real good. I highly recommend the Metalcast. The paint dries hard and fast. Just remember it weighs more then those hobby type paints so plan that ahead of time. My last two cars the paint added about 3 grams to the body. Have fun.
