WHEN IT COMES TO PAINT & BODY WORK...........someone gave me this advice a long time ago..............."Take it nice & slow - spray lots of light coats and walk away / a lot of guys will try to spray fewer heavier coats..........take your time and don't get in a hurry...........the quality you will get from going slower will be worth the wait."
I TRY TO REMEMBER THIS EVERY TIME I START TO PAINT A NEW CAR.
(though this tip is legitimate & works..........this thread is actually just bait thrown out to try and catch David...........his tips are what everyone needs to hear............Jewkes Engineering paint jobs are the "baddest" on the planet.......easy to emulate / hard to replicate!

There is some magical power that wet paint has over spectators. It's like fly paper in the garage or something. I even find myself struggling to resist the temptation to jab a finger in it once in a while.
Something I learned a few years back while working on my sons car. Don't put the car too close to a heat lamp . . . it forces sap out of the wood and forces it out of the paint. So, I second Jokers input. If there isn't time, it doesn't get painted that day. Paint should never be rushed. It's much happier when it gets it do it's thing on it's own schedule.

If God wanted me to paint slow, he would not have given me wet sand paper and buffing compound!!!
