How many races do you guys ususally run on a set of wheels and axles before you take em off and repolish, if you do at all?
We have about 45 races on our car, and not really sure how to tell if its time to repolish or even junk the wheels/axles.
Thanks!

Miller,
I'll give you my thoughts on it and you can take it for what it's worth. Remember, this is coming from a racer to never have won any PDDR event. But from what I have seen and I'm assuming, after a certain amount of runs and re graphites there is going to be a certain amount of build up in the wheel bores. This build up will gradually reduce your speed. For instance, my stocker has exactly 63 individual runs down a 42 ft track (counting the 6 this weekend). When I first set the car up and had it finally dialed in to the fastest times I could get on my track, it had around 42 runs on it. At that time I was getting around 2.939 avg for 6 runs ( my track is 0.006 to 0.008 sec faster than PDDR track). When the runs started getting over 50 my averages were slowly increasing. When I sent the car this time, it had 57 total runs and my average was 2.948 on my track and I turned a 2.955 at PDDR. I think I will be pulling wheels cleaning, polishing and just cleaning the axles. When I get it done we shall see if the speed comes back. Since I will now now for this car were the ideal set up is I should be able to dial it back in a lot quicker and get more faster , consistent runs before the build up strikes again. Maybe some of the faster, better builders will chime in.

It looks as if pulling the wheels and re-polishing the bores and axles helped my stocker this month. I will definately start keeping an accurate run count on all my cars.
