Take another look at the info in "alignment and speed help" then under "test track". I don't think very many caught what a great tool a piece of melamine shelf can be. It is not the purchase of an expensive track but rather an inexpensive way to align cars prior to racing. When you really want to see how the car will work, one inch of slope in eight feet of flat surface can work wonders. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... ............................. ;D

Hey guys,
I sure appreciate everyones help. Looks like a trip to Lowes is in order for a piece of melamine. Is Hob E Lube better than Tube O Lube? (Opps, didn't mean to start another "great debate"). Glen, do you use it as is, or do you add any to it? Thanks again for all the great responses.

Wooden Shoe Trial and error to find the Best lube for yourself may result in a different outcome for your cars. We have done some very intense testing on so many lubes and we have found that Hob-E-Lube is far superior than all of the graphites "WE" have tested. We use a special something first before we use it. It inhances the affect on the Hob-E-Lube lets just say it makes it dance... Hope this helps ya.

Dave,
Thanks for the input. I'm done with Nyoil and going back to Hob E Lube. I wonder if the makers of Hob E Lube realize that Jewkes Engineering has given their product such a great endorsment? Maybe you guys could get some free product. Just kidding!

Woodenshoe, I have'nt raced here yet but have raced against a few of these boy's elsewhere . For the longest time I felt alignment was my biggest down fall but after receiving help on alignment from Glenn and some other top notch builders my cars seemed to reach a plateau which was far behind the top guns which only left lube and weight placement , knowing my alignment and weight placement was good I decided to build a test car and test every lube , every mixture of lubes and every application imaginable in fact I've spent the last two months doing this keeping detailed notes along the way. I have made great gains and I'm getting close. I'm certainly not trying to downplay alignment or weight placement but I found myself tweeking alignment for more speed to no avail when the real culprit was lube , my advice for what its worth would be get a handle on the lube (through testing) and that way you eliminate a very frustrating variable from your tuning process.
Good Luck Tim

Tim,
Thanks for the info on the importance of lube. After reading many posts here and elsewhere, I know no one factor is the cure all, but proper lube and alignment seem to be very crucial.
