Well the car is finally done. We're not sure how fast it'll be, but we had fun putting it together. I really like the needle axle combos from JE, makes it really easy to work on and tune the car. We're looking forward to the race, seeing how the car compares to the rest and finding out what adjustments we'll need to make.

The trickiest part about needle cars is getting them to Utah without the USPS going a little adjustment job on them while being shipped. The other hard part is to leave it alone after you get it dialed in. That is the problem I have, always thinking it can be tweaked a little more. ;D ;D

Mine has 2.5 deg neg cant holes in the back and 1.5 pos hole in the front. You don't need to push in all the way. Leave about a 1/16" of the big part of the axle sticking out from the body. This will give you something to grab hold of if you ever desire to remove them and run a 91SGA axle. I just hold the big part with needle nose pliers and slowly press them in. ;D

Same set-up for me as Carolina with the cant. And ditto on the install for the axles. I let the rear axles stick out a little farther because I didn't want to cut them just yet. Once we get through the race and I see how things go I'll shorten them to clear the weight, but the wheels are inside the wheel flares the way they are now. I found a small pair of needle nose with the teeth wrapped in painters tape worked great.

Sorry guys for the three similar responses. Sometimes I get discombobulated when navigating the Mac. I guess I really, really, really meant it.

Had plans to mail in wd40 with needles for this weekend's race. While testing earlier this week, one rear wheel retainer came off during a run and slammed car into timing tower. Needless to say it was not pretty. Body stayed in tact, but I can't say the same thing for the wheels and new needle axles. It bent 2 of 3 axles pretty good....unfortunately it was not the ones I wanted or needed bent. Back to the drawing board...maybe next time. Good luck to all in this new class. Ed
