I added the Champ Timer to the Best Track. I put it at 11" from the end, I can't remember if it was Steve or who it was that told me too. I was just sitting here thinking of this 11"s, is it a standard? What are others doing for distance from the end?

The Champ Timer is made to mount over the middle set of holes, which are 11" from the end. We have replaced our Champ with a Micro-Wizard and mounted it over the last set of holes--10" from the end.

Our track was never pre-drilled. Thats why I'm asking. But if your saying 11" then I put it in the right spot.. Our track never came pre-drilled (even though they asked for it) nor did the rubber foam come with the stop section. I guess they had a brain fart when they put our order together. They sent foam free of charge, and I drilled my own holes.

Sounds like they have the right guy in charge of the pinewood derby. You're taking care of things that many will benefit from and hopefully appreciate for years to come. Wish we had you running our pack pinewood derby.

Thanks for the compliments... This pack was a mess when it comes to pinewood. They bought this track 3 years ago, but no one really had any interest. They actually stored this track in the rafters. Scary lack of care for this high quality track. This is my first year really taking over the whole event. Last year I just helped out, with a free excel program I found. Still could only run two lanes with no timer. Sad, since they paid so much for a 4 lane and to only use 2 of them... This year I got the Champ timer, and GPRM. The race went off without a hitch and was a loved by everyone. All were begging for more then one race a year.
