We won with the Help of PDDR! This car is lead powered 3/4" COM. Drilled with The Block and canted rears. Also pos. cant FDW 5 degree axle bend with K-house slot for adjustments. We ran BSA speed axles & Pro stockers The wheel road on the serrated edges and made a pretty cool wine like a turbo. Our pack has 42' Best Track it measures 37' pin to sensor with Champ Timer. She ran an avg. of 3.016 a little short of sub 3.0 I think we may have had to much steer in her 9 inches in 6 ft. The only reason We steered so hard was that it really made the car settle down and go straight. We do have a 42' 2 lane Best Track with Micro WizzardTimer & Lazer start gate for testing. Just thought I share pic and thank everyone for there help over the years. Attachments:

Congrats to you and your son! That is a sweet looking car. Love the colors and the shape. Reminds me of a '68 Camaro SS. ;D

Just admiring your car again. What kind of paint and clearcoat did you use? Love that shine!

I finish sand the body with 6oo grit. I than use Dupli-Color primer-sealer and apply about 5 coats or so while wet sanding in between coats after the third coat with 400 grit. After the last coat of primer dries I'll use 600 grit wet to finish and get ready for paint. Next is color I'll shoot about 3-5 coats waiting 10 minutes between coats. After she dries I check her for dirt nibs or lint, If I have any I will wet sand them out with 1500 grit wet until they are gone, but sand lightly so I don't go thru to the primer. Next I will shoot one coat of clear on top of color (this helps with the vinyl stencils or striping tape from sticking to your newly painted body when you peel them back off) After stencil or stripes a layed down I'll let dry for 4 hrs or overnight depending on my time line. Peel stencils off slowly. After stencils are off and everthing looks good I will wet sand over the stripes or stencil to knock down the sharp edges of the paint left by the tape or vinyl stencil with 2000 grit. Next I will shoot the clear 5 coats waiting 10 min between coats. I then let dry overnight. When dry I wet sand clear coat until all the low spots are out (you will see the low spots will still be glossy when wet sanding) I will then use rubbing compound , than polish and then wax to bring to a shine. Hope that helps. Attachments:

Yes! After you wet sand the color with 2000 grit it will be dull. The clear will bring back the gloss and help the stencil from sticking to the paint (Did you ever apply a stencil to sanded dull paint before you did the final gloss coats? Then when you peeled off the vinyl that tacky residue sticks to the paint? What a mess that can be), but Like I said in the last post. I will only do this if I have small dirt nibs that can be taken out with lightly wet sanding. If its major I will shoot a couple of coats of color to bring back the gloss. Then I will apply stencils as long as the color is clear of dirt nibs. I have a small paint booth and most of the time the color lays down nice with no dirt. Then stencil or stripe and then clear.
