I tuned in on Saturday and watched all the races and i have to hand it to you guys, these cars are fast (or incredibly slow if you consider the turtles)!! I really enjoyed the Slammrs and went to the hobby store *** TODAY *** and picked up a model to start working. This will be my 2nd derby car to build so i am starting now to hopefully not shame myself ;D does the sub 3 thread apply with the slammers? update: here is a quick slide show for you:

Anywho, pictures will be coming (as well as lots of questions) as soon as i get some paint laid down. Welcome to the party! PDDR is a first class league, you will have a ton of fun racing here. The door slammr class is one of my favorites so I'm glad you'll be running in that one. (I'm still trying to convince Goat Boy to build one - come on Ian!) The sub 3 deal is for pure stocks with the old style 3.4 gram wheels. But sub 3 is definitely something to shoot for in the slammr class. Some of those things have some pretty big, unaerodynamic bodies. Check the shoebox shootout from last year (55 - 57 chevys). Talk about bricks! Sure is fun though. See ya on the track! Andy

I raced the Red Ford convertible MACH III, Everyone of my runs were under 3 seconds. Who would have thought a convertible would take 4th place?? 2.9720 was my fastest time. Attachments:

Just to be clear...
Badges (Sub 3.0, etc...) are awarded during PureStock races only.
The going sub 3.0 thread has speed advice that applies to Door Slammers and Pure Stock...

I been racing here going on 3 years this was my 1st door slam who would have though a thunder chicken would have come in 2nd place I never exspected it to run as good as it did being I kind a throwed it togatther during the race I was hoping for 3rd but finish up 2nd what a night my highest finish at PDDR

So far, the most consistent thing i have read is to just throw'em together and they seem to do better, this may be why my cars run so slow, I gotta get out of the lab and into the house a whole lot more!!! Just kiddin guys, I know everyone spends plenty of time, or should i say, has spent many hours working on cars to allow themselves to quickly put one together and have good results. Great job to all of you racers!!! Zeeb, we'll have to redo the 49 Mercury showdown later on in the year in that '60 and under race, maybe my bubble will speed up some ;D You bet! I'll send that car back for the under 60 race. Let's see how bad I can screw it up. Andy
