THis year my son wanted to build a model of the Titanic. I warned him we would not likely win but it was what he wanted so its what we did. By hollowing out the entire hull and using 3oz of tungsten right by rear wheels we were able to get the COM at about 1.0" in front of rear axle. Track was ROUGH this year so slightly less aggressive COM actually worked well. Second place overall out of nearly 100 cars. Not bad since most of the other top 15 cars were wedges or 1/4" thick cars. Attachments:

Congratulations to your son placing second overall with a field of nearly 100 cars. Good craftsmanship and detail in building of Titanic car.

Yes, thanks for reminding me of the 0.001 second pounding my kids poor car had to take last year. I've noticed since you beat this car you haven't been asking about the dog boned shaped cars anymore. On a similar note we won't be building one like it again. Attachments:
