Ok, I admit it... I am now using The Block.
I had read the books on "Speed Secrets" about checking the pine blocks for squareness and all that. Tonight I used the block to check for the rock like the video. Surprise, Surprise, 2 of the 3 block rocked. It is funny how much more sensitive you get to the rock after the first one. I trued all 3 to fit The Block. Now all I have to do is work on the bandsaw and the drill press.
What is a good number for the thickness of a blank? Or do most of you just use 1/2 of the PWD block?
Thanks, Rick

Rick,
I believe most people try to get there cars somewhere between 3/8" to 1/4" in thickness. Most all the cars I run are 1/4". I like running low profile designs and it allows me to put the weight where I want it.

Thanks for the info! I thought the video showed a larger thickness.
1/4 to 3/8" is mighty fine. Ok, I will shoot for that.
