Tuesday before the local Pack race I had the chance to test run my stock car on their 35' BestTrak. Turns out that this was, by far, the fastest car I have built. It cruised to the finish line (no timer, just lights), hit the end of the 4' stop section and flipped off the track. The rear axle bent as it tore a large chunk out of the axle hole. Going to look into fixing it but it doesn't look good. There isn't a whole lot of car to work with. A new body may be in order! ;D

wow the sucks - its stories like this that i refuse to my cars on cheap tracks. just isnt going to happen. i think you will need a new body. if it messed up the axle hole then scrap it and rebuild. them axle slots alignment is the foundation of a fast car.

Got the new body built. Exactly the same plus a new trick or two like raising the back wheels and better COM. Unfortunately the wreck bent two axles and a wheel. Going to have to make an order before I can get it up and running the same.
Hoping to have it rebuilt completely by April 10. Found out last week that our Pack is hosting the District Pinewood Derby. Not too tough to run aside from the money required, but it will be my last chance to tune before state in May. Built it for the open class whose rules read basically "use the stuff in the box". Those are rules I can handle.
Have fun this weekend all. I won't make it.
