Nice Job on the sub 3! Now balance the wheels and you will find a little more speed.

Nice Job on the sub 3! Now balance the wheels and you will find a little more speed. how do you balance the wheels, and are glenns edge wheels balanced? I spin the wheel on a small diameter nail (axle) watch where it stops. I drop a little fingernail polish on the light side of the wheel on the inside. This will add a little weight to the wheel, but Carolina had a thread(post) a while back proving that it is faster.

I’ll try to be short….and…I know that there are better ways than what I have done…Or I would be 1st on the results list. Mr. Blonde is my own design. I used the block for all 3 of the other cars that I sent in. It has prepped Jewkes wheels from MB4hire, (John), and I did the axles. It has a Tungsten round and the COM is a little more aggressive than the other p/s car. I’ve built 10/12 pure stocks (that I did not send) (plus razor cars…) and made 100’s and 100’s of passes testing….lube, axles, wght, body, wheels… I have a 42’ best track (that is .06 to .07 slower than PDDR. I am a ROOKIE compared to these guys, but so far I have done enough testing that I can align most of my new cars, even if I use the old-bent axle method, in a matter of minutes (then 3-4 full passes down the track to fine tune) I have done TONS AND TONS of work just to create a car that was equivalent to the kit from Cecil. Mr. Blonde had the faster single pass but Mr. Blue had the better avg. by .002. I put my car together, rolled it down 10’-15’ of track 3x to set the alignment, made 4 full passes to finalize alignment, re-lubed and shipped it. Mr. Blue is a kit from Cecil B. I followed the instructions EXACTLY! NO straying from the print. I put the kit together, rolled it down 10’-15’ of track 2 xs. Then made 4 full runs to verify alignment, re-lubed it and sent it. Bottom line, want to sub-3 NOW, get a kit from Cecil before the Jewkes start wanting a cut for advertising. JOKE guys HAHAHAHHAHAHA- just a JOKE. AND DO NOTHING that is not in the instructions! OORR----Build your own…you gotta have The Block. (Unless you have access to a CNC > an End Mill > a Lathe) Rule 1, you’re wasting time until you get it-- AND…your gonna need at LEAST a 1-lane test track from Best to establish a consistent and repeatable alignment technique or your testing is not conclusive . Track your changes, write everything down. I am the LAST person to be GIVING advice here…but all of these guys in this AWESOME community have invested untold time and money to run the times that they do. It won’t come easy. Read the forum (there is an incredible support system here) and send cars… it’s the only way to progress. most of all----HAVE FUN w/this!!!! ;D
