I've been a member here only for a little while. I just sent 2 cars to race in the April event. I'm real excited to be racing with everyone. I'm sending in and old modified with some new tricks that I believe will compete? All I want is to win a heat race. We'll see? Then I built a Pure stock. This car I believe has a feature that's never been seen? Maybe it has been used in the past but I'm not aware of it. I told Glenn that it's a 3 wheel car steered strait that will never let the wheels touch the guides. Only the super slo mo will tell? I also will be sending in a Super mod the next time they race. This car has even another feature that I haven't seen. I'm an out of the box kind of guy. So I like to experiment with mechanical devices. Several months ago I cut a screwdriver slot in my bent axle's to make the adjustment quick and easy. I guess I was the first to think of it? Most people that use it call it the K-Groove. Now you know a little about me so let the racing begin! Kenny

that is so weird that you mention the slice in the driver wheel axle head, I was thinking about that today and wondering if it was legal. Is it?

Yes it's legal. I cut the groove with a dremel and cut off disc.

No one ever has said that their cars got DQ'd because of it. It would fall under axles. Most basic rules would say "use BSA axles" It doesn't say you can't work on your axles? Plus the groove doesn't make the car go faster. TIP. Since the groove is slightly concave you can file a screwdriver to fit the slot to match. Or you can flatten the groove with a small file. You don't have to do this but it's an option.

Hey, at this point, I worry about everything. It's his last year, so paranoia is the norm.
I ran the cutter all the way across to make the slot flat all the way across, just like a flat head screw. It actually looks like one.

I would bet it passes specs. But in doubt - leave it out.

If I leave it in, I will have a spare to swap it out. ;D

You also could simply tell them it's a permanent reference. Say - you got tired of your magic marker line rubbing off. Truthfully that is correct anyway.

Now you know a little about me so let the racing begin! Kenny the only way that I know how to have the wheels not touch the center guide is, Build a guide that is about 1 3/4's wide or just a little less, that hangs down from the bottom of your car that cradles the center guide. Have your wheels wider than this and your wheels will never touch the center guide. I built this about 4-5 years back, It works great the car ran very fast but the 3 wheel rail-rider is faster for us, I was even about to sell them to the public... It is called The Edge SuperGuide. I first had one on the rear of the car and the front. then i just put one on the front of the car. it went faster with just the one on the front... The Wheels would never touch the center guide... it worked great for short wheel base cars because now you put one all the way to the front of the car and it made it like a long wheel base... Is this what you are doing? Glenn

Well I can't lie. It sounds similar. You might get the cars tomorrow so you can check it out.
So now I have another riddle for you. I built a 3 wheel rail rider that is steered strait. There are no guides. What do you think makes the car turn into the rail? It is a super mod that I'll send in next.
I have really no good way to see if either car will work. After the races I'll decide to abandon the the ideas or improve on them.

What do you mean "tell mood you need a logo"? I sent a couple of display cards for my cars. It's something we worked up in a few minutes. You guys will see it if my package makes it. A logo made similar to my cards would be cool!

I did this with a super mod... i made the car steer staight and then built a wing that was put on top of the car not very big but enough to let the air pass by the wing on the car and hold it on the rail... again a very fast car but not as fast as Z07 2 time national champ super mod...
