Ok...Here I am.
RJCOLOS... NOT "RJ Cola"
as said in the Video
I first want to apologize for th stuff on the other page. That was a family member (to remain nameless) that was trying to "defend" me. They are not a statistician and all they know about PWD cars is they "look cool"
I will leave it at that.
As the BIG loser I will say a few things:
Background...Cub scout as a child that had a crippled dad that could NOT build my car...He had a friend "whip up" something the last night before the race....Needless to say I NEVER won even a heat.
Three years ago, our Church AWANA group started this. I have 2 daughters that were in AWANA at the time, So I went home and started reading up. I do have some woodworking skills. SO I figured it wouldnt be too hard.
Since the girls are in different age groups, we had 2 sessions. My first daughter got Third in speed and Second in design with the Barbie car and my older got Second/Second with the SB Car. Since I didnt have a scale I used the washer/bolt system you see on the cars to adjust weight at weigh-in night...I thought that was pretty resourceful at the time, and I was happy I could do something for/with my girls.
We lost at states, but I was determined to keep making cars better. Skipping the drawn out year by year stuff, I will say that we got 4th in state in speed last year, and first in design with this car:
After another State loss, I decided to start getting serious. I tried some new things, got access to the Church track and kept practicing (this is still only April 2006) I didnt know what to do with the cars after testing them, So i Gave some away, and sold some...hence the start of the business...I was only selling them for enough $$ to buy more supplies, but the need for the scale and other stuff caused me to start selling a little more. Since then, I have saved a little $$ in profit, but mostly to fund the hobby and learn.. I think I have progressed a lot for the little time I have to dedicate, but that is my own opinion.
About the current situation:
I was REALLY careful to not say " Fastest car" "definite winner" etc. You did NOT see that in my listings. My car DID beat a car 3/3 races that was bought on EBAY last year for $100..that is the truth. The seller will remain namelessl.
The video showed the cars up close, but I did not catch any commments on the quality of the car as it was shown...wheels, axles alignment, etc. As you can see by the table, my car was by far the LEAST amt of money, and I think that was a fair price for what the potential owner would have. I have to pay for machined wheels... I do the axles myself, and I sand, prime, and paint the cars to the best of my ability, trying to vary the cars as much as possible to avoid the 'cookie cutter' look. I HAVE sold cars to buyers that have won first place...one family got 1 and 2 with two cars they bought...and some that dont. Those testimonials are 100% accurate (that's why I list the buyers)
I think we ALL agree that we can ALL find "something" to pick apart in the adds, so if you see a "FLAT OUT " lie in my ads, please let me know..
You guys all say that this is a "consumer" based test, but all I have read is everybody ragging on the cars and picking them apart. I have read many comments here about how lousy Nyoil is. Well Everything I have read on searches about it disagrees. WHO DO I BELIEVE??? Instead of dissing it, please edjumicate me about it.
A lot of my buyers have been families that arent looking for DRAG RACING competitors...They want a decent-priced car that looks nice. Do mine look like Kevin's?? I dont think many do, buy I definitely am not ashamed of them either..I have also set up workshops to help the little ones cut, weigh and assemble their cars..I have made A LOT of people happy in one way or another, and not just by "selling" stuff....I have volunteered a lot of my time helping the AWANA kids, many who live with their single mom.
I wish ONE person would have at least looked at my car and said..."here's how that car could have been improved:____"
Instead of criticizing.
I guess I would have reacted the way you did too regarding that other post from the nameless family member, but Im sitting here now after a 13 hour shift on my feet (retail pharmacy, and YES, I have a doctorate degree in pharmacy, with a BS from undergraduate studes). Typing this up instead of going to sleep a little early.
BUT...now that Im coming clean...we can put that
<THE PICTURE THAT WAS HERE WAS FUNNY, BUT WAS REMOVED DUE TO THIS IS A FAMILY SITE>in the past, and hopefully, someone can go back and lower my SIZE 8 name to at least a 5 or 6
Someone here ( I dont know who is who) drop me an EMAIL and tell me why that car did not perform. Was there too much NYOIL added at race time? Did someone put graphite on it? THe weight was fine, the wheel were machined, hubs coned, axles polished and straight....SOmebody tell me. I would say that car is NOT the worse car I have made (in terms of speed) but THANK GOD it is not in the top 2/3 either ( I write all the times down and save them)
Got more to say, but I am REALLY BEAT NOW!! Im sure we will have more time to discuss the topic.
Good Night And God Bless All of you!!
